Mama why season 2 episode 11 by Ngozi Lovelyn
As Doctor tried to leave to inform the police, Ndubuisi who was oblivious of what he was about to do held him.
“Doctor, please, don’t feel disgusted or confused that I am reacting this way. Reason I’m like this is because, everything that happened was all my fault.” he paused and sniffled
“Yes I know and you are definitely going to pay for it” the doctor said in his heart, continued listening to Ndubuisi, without showing him the plan he was brewing in his mind, so that he doesn’t run away.
Ndubuisi continued, “I shouldn’t have allowed her leave like that. I asked her if she has anyone in the city, but she left, ignoring my sincere questions. She gave me the impression that she knows her way, now she is no more, I shouldn’t have allowed her left”
“You shouldn’t have allowed her leave, leave to where? Make me understand” The doctor requested
And Ndubuisi narrated everything that happened between him and Ogechi and the doctor got interested in their story.
He also scolded him for allowing her left, since he knew that, she doesn’t know her way too well in the city.
“And now, she is no more, how can I ever forgive my self?” Ndubuisi asked amidst tears
“Wait a minute, when did I tell you she is gone?” Doctor asked
And Ndubuisi picked the word immediately, glaring at him
“But you just asked about her relatives, how to get in contact with them?”
“What did you say her name was again?”
“Ogechi”
“Ogechi is very much alive. She is out of danger”
And Ndubuisi screamed in joy. He couldn’t believe it.
“But she wasn’t moving the time I brought her here?”
“Yes, it’s normal with most accident victims. Most of the people who who died from accident did not die because of the injury they sustained, but because of the way their heart reacted to it.” The doctor explained
“Can I see her now?” Ndubuisi asked
“Offcourse, you can”
And Ndubuisi left the doctor and rushed to where Ogechi was. He saw her lying down, facing up, as deep feeling of anguish showcased all over her face. She was thinking about her life and how difficult it turned out for her.
“Ogechi” he called still standing close to the door and Ogechi who recognised the voice quickly looked at his direction and was shocked to see Ndubuisi who was looking entirely different from the person he met that evening.
He kept walking to her slowly as confusion ran through Ogechi’s mind. She wiped her eyes to know if she was seeing clearly.
When it was evident that Ndubuisi was actually there with her, she tried coming down from the bed, but Ndubuisi rushed and held her, preventing her from coming down from the bed. She fell into his arms as Ndubuisi cupped her tight.
“Ogechi” he whispered in the air as the breeze brushed Ogechi’s skin.
She froze, freeing herself from Ndubuisi’s arms and started looking direct into his eyes, to understand what was going on.
“Am I dreaming?” She asked, closing her eyes again, very tight, to ensure that, it wasn’t a dream
“No my dear, you are not dreaming. I’m here. We are here, present.” Ndubuisi said and drew her closer into his skin and hugged her tight. Ogechi reciprocated by holding him tight as the atmosphere turned into an emotional field.
“Please, hold me. Don’t let go. Don’t leave me” Ogechi begged in a hysterical shaking tone
“I thought I’ve lost you. I never stopped loving you. I never stopped… Your love has been there and thank God for the accident. It helped unsealed what my heart is truly feeling for you. I won’t let go again, I promise” Ndubuisi said, meaning every word he just said.
