Ngozi Lovelyn Stories Life Chronicles
My secret about to kill me – the child my husband thinks is his son, my boyfriend wants him back – part 11
I had to jump in the middle, interrupting him from making such a hasty decision.
My conscience was already tearing me apart, and I would die of it, if he saw it through with seeing Grace out of his life.
Grace burst into tears, begging, saying that she was already pregnant and can’t leave the house.
I knew I hated the idea of sharing my husband with another woman, but I couldn’t stand and allow him send his own child away from his life. I tried begging on her behalf, to resolve the issue amicably. I also suggested allowing her stay with mama in the village, instead of sending her back to her parent’s house.
“Listen mama, when you started all these drama, you never sought for my permission, nor my consent. You created all these mess by yourself and alone, I never gave my approval. Now this is my stand, I was never married to Grace and never intend marrying two women at same time. Take her with you, I don’t want her in my house anymore. Failing to do so………. I guess you know what I’m capable off. My wife is pregnant now, I wouldn’t want her to face any kind of stress. She deserves her peace of mind”
There I was, trapped. My husband was busy creating enough reasons to kill me if the truth finally surfaces. He wasn’t the type you can beg down when he makes up his mind on something, otherwise, we would have solved Grace’s issue amicably and the involved parties will be happy. My mother inlaw didn’t utter a word again, because she knew everything was her fault. She acted alone, without the approval of her son.
And then, I began making up my plans to make sure that, the truth remained hidden forever, I blocked Peter’s number and also changed my line. I got a new mobile number, deactivated all my social media accounts. I did everything humanly possible to make sure my path never crosses with him again. But a cliche say, no matter how hard you try to hide the truth, it will always come back someday, staring you right there, in the face.
