Ngozi Lovelyn Book Series
My Wicked Him – Episode 20 by Ngozi Lovelyn
Ella woke up around 10am and quickly rushed her phone, thinking that Jide had called back, but no call was missed.
She sighed sadly, wondering what happened, if he hadn’t seen her calls or something.
She then remembered how she requested Jide to leave her a spare key to his house, but he frankly said no. That the only woman who he would be doing the honour would be the only woman he would be spending the rest of his life with.
“I think this is the right time to demand for my own key to his house. He has a key to my house, so why can’t I have his?”
She then started dialing the number.
“Hello….” Jide responded, sounding low
“Baby…… I am so sad right now. You saw my calls and refused to return them, may I know why?” Ella asked, sounding emotional
“I am just waking up. It was your call that woke me. I am so sorry about that” Jide apologised
And Ella’s heart melted.
“Alright baby. Where are you?”
“I’m in the house”
“Ok.. I will be coming later in the day. What would you like for dinner?” Ella asked, but Jide kept mute
“Are you there?” she inquired, but Jide still did not answer her.
“Hello”
Just then, the call went dead.
And Ella called back.
“Hello baby, can you hear me now?”
“Yes, I can hear you. You said you are coming this evening?”
“Yes” Ella replied
“Ok…”
“But you still haven’t replied my question”
“Which of the questions?”
“I asked what you would like for dinner”
“Cook anything you like, I’m ok” Jide replied
And Ella found his response a bit cold. She decided to let him be, thinking that maybe, he was exhausted.
And the call ended.
Later in the evening, Liz already returned to her own house and Ella was set to leave for Jide’s house.
Still on her way to Jide’s house, she branched the usual supermarket that was in the street to get some few things.
As Siv’s wish had it, he stumbled on her.
He had been checking around for Ella.
“You?” Ella said, facing Siv who was happy to see her
“Oh thank goodness. They say, when you wish for something and your intentions are genuine, you will surely get them”
Ella kept looking at him to understand the point he was trying to make.
“I have been searching, looking all over, everywhere for you”
And Ella’s mind quickly brushed to the promise she made to Liz, that she would get Siv’s cellphone number for her.
As she was about opening her mouth to request for it, Siv started telling her everything she knew about Jide.
“See, I don’t know why he said yes, but trust me, it’s not for good intentions. I have overheard him on several occasions with his friends, during a table chat at the Bar, that all the women in his life are his major source of income. That the only one he is even considering to be closer to his heart, was the one he gave her name as Rose and if my brain is actively correct, your name is not Rose.” Siv sounded so serious, to helping Ella understand the kind of person Jide was.
Do you think Ella is going to believe Siv’s words? Follow below to fine out.
