My Wicked Him – Episode 39 by Ngozi Lovelyn
Ella who wasn’t ready for much talk stood up from where she sat, and started heading to the room.
Jide never saw her in that manner.
He expected her to fall into tears and start begging him like she always does, but her attitude was rather cold.
After Ella went inside, Jide who noticed that his rude behaviour wasn’t working for him decided to join her in the room, to calmly ask her what happened.
“Ok, I’m sorry baby for the way I reacted. You know I’m already frustrated and my only hope lied on the promise you made to me this morning. You lifted my heart and gave me reasons to smile, only for you to shatter it this night. If you were in my shoes, how would you feel?”
“I never said, I’m not going to give you the money, let’s get married first.”
And Jide fixed a look with her.
“Yes, once we are married, everything that belongs to me, will automatically become yours. You will even join my business. Let’s get married, I can assure you, you won’t have any reason to worry again”
“And where is that one coming from? Did I say I’m never going to marry you? And besides, were you not the one who said, you only have 5.5million in your account, so where are you going to get the 5million you promised me after catering for the wedding expenses or did you lie to me?”
“You don’t have to worry about that, let’s get married first, trust me, everything will be fine”
And Jide quickly had the imagination of getting married to her and abhorred it greatly.
“Listen Ella, you are not been reasonable at all. How can I get married in my present situation, when I have nothing to show for as a man?”
“But you have me. You have everything. Trust me, you won’t regret marrying me”
And Jide, noticing that, things were not going his way, he fumed up.
“Listen Ella, it’s either you fulfill the promise you made to me or you forget about me, about everything” he zoomed out of the room in anger.
His intention was to blackmail her emotionally and have her do what he was demanding, but Ella was finally struggling to understand if she was doing the right thing.
“Jide has never been fair to me. I think I’m doing the right thing here. Not giving him the money shouldn’t be enough reason to call off the wedding, except he doesn’t really want to marry me. My heart needs to be strong to make this decision. If he loves me and wants me, then we should get married”
Jide left the house in anger, and was waiting as usual for Ella to call him back and start apologising, but he didn’t know that, nothing remains constant in life
