Ngozi Lovelyn Book Series
My Wicked Him – Episode 40 by Ngozi Lovelyn
Jide left the house, and still anticipating Ella’s call. It had always worked for him manipulating her emotionally. He was hopeful that, her call would come chiming his phone. So, he kept cool, chilling with his favourite beer brand, at his usual bar.
Siv was at home going through some documents when his phone started ringing.
His eyes widened, seeing who it was from. He picked it, grinning lightly
“Hellooo…” he greeted
“Hello Siv”
“Before we proceed, are you truly Ella?” he asked
“Yes, I am. You didn’t save my number?”
“Offcourse I did… I just wanted to make sure my eyes are not deceiving me by seeing your number invading my phone. To be honest, I’m surprised to see your call.”
“We are friends now, and I have every right to call you, don’t I?”
“Offcourse… so what’s up with you? You are sounding so low? Is everything Ok with you?” Siv asked, having a sheer fear for her, thinking that she finally gave Jide the money
“Can I ask you a question?”
“You are always free to ask me anything”
“How should a man love a woman? I mean, you are a man, how would you treat your woman if you are truly inlove with her and wants a life time commitment with her?”
And Siv exhaled, searched for the right words to use and then began, “Love is never hidden. It’s something that doesn’t speak, but louder than words. If your man loves and wants a lifetime commitment with you, trust me, you won’t need a soothsayer to reveal that to you” Siv responded, knowing fully well that Ella was asking in respect to Jide
And Ella remained silent, likewise Jide.
The call remained on as Jide allowed what he said to sink in her brain, because he knew she was processing it and relating it to her relationship with Jide.
“I just wish you can open your eyes and see what he is to you. He doesn’t mean well for you.” Siv wished in his heart
About 10:12pm, Jide who got tired of waiting for Ella’s call returned home, but was shocked to meet her absence.
He checked the room, but no trace of her.
Just then, something entirely unbelievable caught his attention.
He found most of the things missing.
Ella left and took all the expensive items he got for him. Both the television set, shoes, jewelries, and some of the beautiful items she decorated his house with, thinking they would be building a home together. She took everything that had receipt to her name.
And Jide couldn’t believe what was happening. He fell into a shock.
The woman who was the main source of his income showing him the red light. He never saw that coming.
