“Ella” he whispered, enjoying the feelings he was getting, remembering the kiss. He then picked up his phone, to call her
Ella was still trying to make Liz understand that, the perfume she was perceiving wasn’t from Siv. Just then, her phone started ringing.
She was having the phone in her hand.
Immediately she saw the caller, she became unsettled. She flashed a look on Liz, to see if she somehow caught a glimpse of the caller.
“Why are you not answering your call?” Liz inquired, studying her face, wondering why she was looking restless
“Is that Jide?”
“Yes…yes… it’s him and I won’t answer it” Ella replied, rushing the words
“Are you Ok?” Liz asked, touching Ella
“How would I be Ok when Jide is about ruining my life?”
“Oh, sorry for asking. I understand you must be undergoing a kind of stress. It’s one of the reasons I came here. I spoke with my sister this morning and” Liz continued relaying her reasons for coming.
Ella wasn’t paying attention, she was texting Siv, to withhold calling her, that she was with Liz.
“Ella, have you been paying attention to me?” Liz inquired
“Yes…yes…Offcourse, I heard what you said, you called your sister this morning and….” she lost it
“See, you haven’t been paying attention. What is going on Ella? You are keeping something from me. What is it? You can always share with me”
“I’m sorry Liz, I have betrayed your trust. I’m falling for the man in whom you have found love with. And I know that, you won’t forgive me if I reveal to you that, we kissed. It wasn’t even spontaneous, it was passionate, it was something we both wanted and I felt every bit of it. Why is love playing this cruel game on my friend? She hasn’t been lucky, and I shouldn’t have done this with her man. She is finally happy. I must find a way to kill this feeling that is about to grow in me. I can’t betray my best friend” Ella looked lost, communicating with her heart
“Ella?” Liz called, tapping her
“Yes”
“Where were you? You look lost”
“I was thinking about Jide and the best way to deal with him. A friend advised I return the items to him. That I got those things for him in the name of love and shouldn’t have taken them”
“And what friend is that?”
Ella didn’t respond
“Who is this friend of yours that doesn’t have a name?”
“Do you know all my friends”
“Offcourse I do. I know everything about you, from A to Z. So, who is this mysterious friend you are willing to heed to her advice?” Liz asked fixing a serious questioning look on Ella
