How My Friend Made Me Fall In Love With Her Husband – part 4
Confession with Ngozi Lovelyn
I entered the kitchen and felt my heart beating fast.
I really don’t know why I was feeling that way, but I knew I lost my breath the moment I walked past him.
So I began bringing out the things I bought from the market.
While I was still at it, Ebby entered the kitchen to help me out.
I tried asking her to return to her room, that she wasn’t feeling fine, but she insisted, that she wants to cook for her husband.
“But you are not strong and that’s why I’m here to help”
“I understand my dear, but this is my husband we are talking about here, it’s my duty to cook for him. I only asked you to help me buy the items and not cook them. I can manage”
“Why is she sounding rude to me?” I asked my angry heart
“Do not pick offence my dear, I know you are only trying to help, but trust me, when you get married, you will understand better.”
And I slowly nodded, allowing her cook for her husband.
“Just help me peel the vegetables and slice the okra. I guess that’s the area I seriously need your help’ she requested
But was I supposed to feel hurt about this?
To be frank, I was.
And jealousy also came in.
She reminded me that, I wasn’t married, yet. I found her words, rather insulting and rude.
And the feeling I was having for her husband started giving birth to some unhealthy feelings.
I started seeing her as a rival over her own husband.
She noticed that I was quiet and she turned and reiterated what she said
‘Yea, I’m on it” I said, picking the vegetables and started peeling them
And she turned, facing the sink, bringing out the meat to wash them.
My anger kept fuming over what she said.
