I returned to the living room and informed my brothers what was going on.
And they said ok, that it’s even better, so that they will use their eyes and witness everything.
So we sat, waiting for her brothers to arrive.
I hour later, we were still waiting.
And one of my uncles, started getting impatient, that it was getting late, that he wants to leave, he doesn’t like staying out late.
I begged him to wait for atleast, 30 more minutes.
And he agreed and said, he won’t exceed 30 minutes in my house.
So, I thanked him for exercising more patience.
I went to the room and asked her to call her brothers and asked them where they are and she said, she already did, that they will soon reach.
I wanted to call them myself and ask them where they are, but it wasn’t wise, because I didn’t call them myself and informed them what was going on.
Few hours later, my brothers got tired of waiting and said they will leave. And looking at the time, it wasn’t wise to beg them to continue waiting.
It was Hyacinth who tapped my sense of reasoning that, Prisca didn’t call anyone.
“She only said that to waste our time for nothing. And this should tell you one thing, your suspicions are right. Henry is not a blood of our family”
And Hyacinth was right. She didn’t call anyone.
And my brothers felt disrespected that she did not come out to greet them and offer them, atleast water.
And they left.
I went to her in the room and calmly asked her why she lied to us that her brothers were coming.
“What’s the need of getting your families involved? Are they going to determine the DNA status of a child? I am disappointed and hurt that, you would question my loyalty. You should have done this secretly and not deny Henry in his presence. Do you know the effect of what you did? He would grow up knowing that, at a point in his life, his father denied him”
“You are sounding calmly now just to make me change my mind, abi?”
“Change your mind? I am not stopping you. But if you want to confirm who Henry is, then DNA test is the best idea for you, but let me make this clear to you. If you go ahead with this………. If you go ahead with this test, I swear, you will never see me again, and not even the kids. I won’t allow you come anywhere near us again. I am warning you”
“You are warning me? I know what you are doing. To scare me from going ahead with my decision to knowing who Henry truly is. That means, I’m right. I must forge ahead with the test and trust me, you must leave my house when that happens”
“You should tell me, you don’t want this marriage anymore and not saying I should leave your house”
