My Life After I Introduced My Girlfriend To My Mother – Episode 8
And I was a happy man, watching Chidera feeling relaxed and accepted.
Her worries vanished and her free spirit released.
She is so down to earth and takes life with ease.
She connected with my mother as if they have known for a long time.
My mom, on her own part was also looking cheerful.
She waited for our arrival before preparing food for us, so that she doesn’t waste it like she wasted the local banga rice she prepared the previous day which she garnished with mangala fish.
And again, I apologised, explaining what really happened.
“Hope they did not injure you?” she asked Dera
“No mama, I am fine. They only took my phone and my bag.” she said
“Ekene diri Olisa” Thank God “Let me go and prepare something, you must very hungry and tired” she said, standing up
As she was heading to the kitchen, she sighted Dera joining her
“Don’t tell me you are coming to join me” Mama asked
“Don’t tell me you want to stop me”
And my mother smiled, turned as we exchanged cheerful glance
I love my mother.
With what she suffered in life, I wouldn’t want to marry any woman that would create problems between us.
I would love my wife to love her, just like she love her own mother.
My mother had, time to time, made me swear that, I must marry a woman she approves. That I shouldn’t disobey her on that.
But I was about breaking that promise, but luckily for everyone, their meeting turned out successfully
And then, their laughter was heard from the kitchen.
Only God knew the gist she must be telling my mother. Because, with Dera, it’s never a dull moment. She always know what story to say and when to say them.
I knew she must love Dera, because she has this positive vibe that makes anyone that comes across her to like her.
And finally, the food was done.
And we ate, like a happy family.
The happiness on my mother’s face was visible.
And Dera was relaxed and comfortable.
Later that night, my mom called me in the room, asking things about Dera.
Her village, if she has a child at home, if I met her a virgin and all that.
But I found her questions unnecessary, especially, the part of being a virgin.
“If I tell you that, you won’t be marrying her, are you going to obey me?” she asked, looking serious
I wasn’t liking the tone of her language.
“I don’t like this questions. Are you saying you don’t like her?” I asked, because I don’t want to go direct with the answer
“No,I never said so. I only asked a question”
“Chidera is a good girl, that’s why I brought her here for you to confirm her”
“And which I have.”
I then started coughing, to distract her from going further with her questions. I wasn’t liking her tone
I continued coughing, headed outside, trying to search for water……… and that was how I evaded her that night.
And finally, we called it a night.
But when I woke up, Chidera was found missing. We searched for her the entire house, everywhere, but nowhere
