My Wicked Him – Episode 75 by Ngozi Lovelyn
“Jide still has something against you. He sent me a video of…..” she was still typing and then remembered how she lost Siv and her bitter feelings returned again. She hissed and cleared the message.
“Whatever Jide does with her should be none of my business” she released a long hiss, dropping her phone
The only option left for Ella was to wait for Siv to come to her house.
She knew he must be worried about her and would definitely come looking for her.
But 2 days had passed, there was no sight of him and she was still on the process of welcoming back her line.
She wondered what could be going on.
Siv knew her house and also, her shop.
“Atleast, he should have come for me, Is he not worried about me?”
She kept wondering what could be going on.
And then, she started nurturing this fear, that Siv may have stopped loving her.
And that was when she made up her mind to find him, so that, he can explain to her what was happening, and why he didn’t bother to come looking for her, after she was off to him for 48 hours.
And she asked some questions and was able to locate Siv’s home.
She knocked at the gate and the gate keeper asked who she was
“Um..my name is Ella, I’m friends with Sylvester, is he around?”
“No, he is not back from work”
“Ok.. do you know when he will be back?”
“He will soon be back”
“Ok…maybe, I should hang somewhere and wait for him”
“You can come inside and wait for him” the gatekeeper offered
“Alright, thank you.
And Ella entered inside.
She was led to the visitors parlour, where she was asked to sit.
“Thank you” she greeted the gatekeeper
And he responded with a smiling face.
“You are welcome madam” the gatekeeper said and ran out.
A minute later, a lady, who she believed was a housekeeper came and asked her the drink she would like to be offered
“No my dear, I’m good. I don’t feel like taking anything.”
“What about water?” the housekeeper asked politely
“Ok….I think water would do”
And the housekeeper left and got water for her.
She placed it on the side stool beside her
“Thank you” she greeted
“You are welcome”
“Please, can I ask you something?”
“What about the mother, is she around?”
“Yes, she is upstairs. You want to see her?”
“Yes, I’d love to”
“Alright, follow me”
And Ella followed her. While climbing the stairs, she remembered how she declined Siv’s request of seeing his parents. She then wondered if she did the wrong thing by not saying yes right away.
“Maybe, it could be the reason he is loosing interest in me. Because, nothing else can explain why he hasn’t bothered to check up, to know why my line has been off”
She was still on with her thought, when she was ushered into the room Mrs Vincent was in.
“Look who is here… Ella”
And shocked looking Ella, wondered how she knew she was the one.
“Good evening, Mummy” she greeted, courteously, still wondering how she knew she was, Ella
And Mrs. Vincent understood the puzzle effect on her face.
“I knew you will definitely come looking for my son” she smiled, taking a close look at her
“You are exactly the way my heart told me you would. Welcome home, Ella”
And Ella was feeling shy and at same time, a bit uncomfortable on why Mrs Vincent was being so nice to her and why she said, “welcome home”.
“How are you doing now, mummy?”
“I am fine my daughter. I am fine.” Mrs Vincent replied, giving a cheerful look
“I was so worried the day Siv said you were not taking your drugs. Hope you are being faithful with them now and you are not skipping any dose”
“None at all, I’m obedient to my doctor” she replied, smiling softly
Mrs Vincent had the spirit of recognizing people with good and kind hearts. It wasn’t difficult for her to recognize the category Ella belonged and was highly pleased with her.
It was their first time of meeting, but they connecting immediately.
Mrs Vincent kept initiating her into a discussion as she was so happy chatting along with her.
And finally, Ella shared with her the reason she came and how she was feeling scared that, Siv may be thinking of leaving her.
“When my son comes home, he is going to explain everything to you. But I want you to know this, everything that happens in this life, always has a reason, whether good or bad, always know that, it’s for the glory of God”
And Ella wondered why she was playing with words and what she meant by that.
