My Wicked Him – Episode 76 by Ngozi Lovelyn
Ella was still racing with her mind, to understand what Mrs Vincent was trying to explain, but she had no mouth to ask her. She then decided to remain calm like she said and wait for Siv to come back.
Some minutes later, Siv’s car was heared, driving into the compound.
“He is here” the mother said, with a visible smile
And Ella felt fears foaming in her heart on how Siv would react seeing her in their house without an invitation.
Siv was informed that, he had a visitor and was told where she was.
Ella had her heart beating fast, when she heard his foot step approaching the room.
The moment he entered, she fixed a look with him, to study his reaction, to know if she should start heading for the door or stay.
But Siv stood, looking at her.
She was uncertain of what was going on in his mind, but she could deduce from the look on his face that, he wasn’t too pleased to see her.
He wasn’t looking excited.
So she stood.
“Good evening” she greeted, looking a bit unsettled
“Good evening, mom… and how are you today?” he asked, removing his face from Ella, ignoring her greeting
And Ella quickly concluded that, things were no longer as they were between them.
“I am fine my son. How was your day at the office?” she asked, but fixing her eyes on Ella, to understand how she was feeling. She then signalled Siv, that she doesn’t like the way he ignored Ella. And Siv understood her message
“You didn’t tell me you were coming” he asked Ella, but maintaining a straight face
“I lost my phone and there was no way to communicate with you. I was hoping that, you would come looking for me, to find out why I was offline, but………” she paused, huffed deeply and continued “but looking at your reactions now, it’s clear you were not bothered one bit” she said calmly
Siv kept looking at her, but didn’t reply.
Silence was maintained across the room for some seconds as Ella decided to break it.
“I guess it’s a mistake coming here. The message is crystal clear” she said, trying to control the tears pilling up in her eyes.
“I should be on my way now, ma” she said facing Mrs Vincent, as her tears finally flowed
And she ran towards the door, in pull of her tears.
“I don’t like this, Sylvester” the mother said, frowning at how Siv was treating Ella
When Ella reached the gate, she found it locked. She requested the gate keeper to open, but he refused.
“I said, I’m leaving”
“Oga Siv instructed I shouldn’t allow you out of the compound”
