“Mom?” he gave her a questioning look, to understand why she called her, having a surprise look on his face
“I was here, worrying myself out, that my son is not eating well, that he may grow thin. But look at you, looking so plumped and healthy.”
Siv and Ella laughed.
“Mom, is it not Ella. She wants to finish me with food. Despite running her ever demanding business, she always create time to garnish something delicious for me. And you know the fun part, her cooking skill is a top notch. Don’t worry, you will taste her food tonight. She is going to make your favourite meal”
And Mrs Vincent got so happy and thanked her for taking care of Siv for her
“But you shouldn’t stress yourself my dear, we have cooks and that’s why we are paying them”
“That’s what I told her, but she made some point which I agreed. She is cooking for her mother. Ella has been longing for a mother since childhood and meeting you gave her the fulfilment that she has found one”
And Mrs Vincent felt touched hearing that
“Mummy” Siv called
“Yes my son”
“Can you be her mother?”
“You really don’t need to ask” she then faced Ella who already gotten teary
“The first day I met you, my whole heart accepted you. You are in my son’s life and also the source of his happiness. From today onwards, you are my daughter. You are not only my future daughter inlaw, but my own daughter. You can call me, ‘mother’
And emotional Ella hugged her, as tears flowed down freely.
“Thank you mother”
And Siv felt touched, enjoying the relationship exhibiting between his mother and Ella.
“The two important women in my life. I’m going to do anything to make them happy. I love you mom. I love you Ella” He said in his heart.
They were still there, when Mr Vincent arrived.
Ella was about to panic, but Mrs Vincent told her to remain still.
“This is your house now, nobody is going to chase you away”
And Ella nodded, swallowing her tongue in fear.
The moment the gate was opened, his eyes first caught Sylvester.
He was about to smile that his son was finally home, but had the happiness cut short when he saw Ella standing close to his wife and his face squeezed.
When he reached their side, Ella greeted him courteously, but he didn’t respond and walked past them.
When Mr Vincent entered his room, he couldn’t stop fuming on why his son doesn’t want to listen to him.
“And looking at her finger, he already engaged her. Why is this boy not listening to me, his father?” he kept breathing anger. “I hate that girl. Her sight irritates me. Because of that thing, my son keeps dishonouring me” he maintained his anger
Jide was with his friends, discussing how girls were becoming stiff.
“Oh boy, I don’t know. I’m loosing my charms. Only married women are finding me enticing these days. And the ugly part is that, it’s only the old ones who are already smelling. I’m loosing my charm among these single rich chics, I don’t know what’s happening”
And Hassan laughed and said, “because babes are becoming smart now. For you to date them, you must have something tangible you are doing. You must have lots of money. Otherwise, you won’t even see their break light. Marriage no dey trip them anymore, you can no longer to charm them with marriage”
“That’s why I need Ella back. Like seriously, I need her back. I’m going to go extreme for that to happen”
Hassan was about to reply him when his phone started ringing. It was Elizabeth.
“How far? Liz asked
“How war on?”
“On the stuff with Ella, how far have you gone?”
“Listen, this plan is entirely mine and I’m not doing it for you. I won’t have you snooping around or asking questions. I heard your utterances last time and I chose to ignore you. Better dey your dey, make I run my things my way…cos I’m not doing it for you” he ended the call
“Another Chic” Hassan asked
But Jide didn’t reply that, he was looking on, thinking on how much he needed to force Ella back into his life.
