Home Alone with Jude’s mother – part 2
After Jude left, I was home alone with his mother. And I was so careful to avoid any issue that may come up and affect the relationship I had with her son.
I was in the room, thinking of what to do and how to ask her what she would like to eat.
She was in the second room, lying down and I gently knocked at the door which was already open to draw her attention.
And she opened her eyes and fixed at me.
So I asked her what she would like to eat.
And she continued looking at me for some seconds and then said, nothing. And then removed her face from me.
Observing her face, I noticed she still hadn’t released her mean face on me. She was still not pleased with me.
I wondered if it was still the gown she claimed that was too short, because I was already tying wrapper.
So I exhaled lightly and left her in the room and went to the living room.
I switched on the television and started watching Africa Magic.
1 hour later, she came out and ordered me to turn off the television.
I wanted to ask her why I should off it, but seeing her mean face, I decided to obey her without any stress. And I did.
So I asked her again, if she would like me to prepare something for her, but she ignored me, sitting on the sofa, tapping feet. She looked agitated and upset.
And I got wondering again, if it was still about the gown.
So I called her, “mama, why is your face like that, is anything the matter?”
“Please, do not mama me, because there is no way I’m accepting you as my daughter inlaw. Never!”
“Ah ah…. Mama, I don’t understand, is it because of the gown?”
“Listen let me tell you, all you township girls, I know all about your evil tricks on how to pin a man, but let me assure you, it’s not going to work on my son. Not while I’m still alive.”
“See me see wahala.”
“Mama, you should ask your son, I didn’t pin him biko. Ask him, he will tell you how it took him close to 2 months trying to make me fall for him. He was the one who came for me, I didn’t force him biko.”
“Listen let me tell you, Jude is already married and his wife already bore him a son”
“What?”
“You are the one confusing him. I’m warning you, if I were you, I better pack my self and be gone from his life, because he will never marry you. I will make sure of that”
And I scoffed, looking at her
“I already knew you are a trouble maker. Is this the level you can go to destroy the beautiful relationship your son and I share? I must disappoint you mama, your plans won’t get to me. No one can stop this marriage from happening except God in heaven. I have prayed and I have gotten answers that he is the one for me. So, you will be wasting your time trying”
So, I stood and left her there in the living room.
She continued raking, but I never cared.
I entered Jude’s room, sat and tried digesting what she said, but it failed to make sense.
If Jude was already married, I would have gotten a wind of it.
So I waved it off.
I didn’t even call Jude to ask him anything about it, because I trusted him so much.
