What he asked me to do after I followed him to his village – part 2
I woke up the next morning and my phone was the next thing I checked to see if I missed his calls but I didn’t. He didn’t call.
And that was when I decided to call him.
And I realized he didn’t even save my number.
He asked who was calling and I had to introduce myself.
And he was like, “hey….,how are you?”
He asked without feeling sorry that he didn’t save my line.
“Does it mean, he asked for my number, only for asking sake and not for the purpose of calling?”
I wanted to ask him why he didn’t call like he promised, but I decided to swallow it, to avoid sounding desperate and local.
So I flowed with the call. He asked me how I was and how my night went.
And I replied and asked how his night went aswell and he said fine.
He asked how old I was, how many we are in my family, if my parents were still alive and whether I have a boyfriend.
The questions sounded strange, because it was coming from someone who wasn’t even interested in calling or having something to do with me.
So I replied his questions, eager to hear his reasons. Makuo looked his middle 40s, so I figured any relationship he enters must surely lead to marriage. So I replied him, having this feeling that, he was asking for marriage purposes.
He requested we see in the afternoon. I told him ok, that I was free.
After we met, he was so straight to the point, telling me that, he wasn’t interested in friendship.
He asked, if he proposes, would I say yes.
I found the question rather confusing, so I don’t go direct with my response.
I tried cornering him, to give me the reason he was asking.
And he said “You should know I’m no longer young for dating stuff. I want to get married”
And that was exactly what I wanted too, because I was tired of friendship that wont lead to marriage.
“Is there a problem?” he asked, studying my face. Because I went mute, I didn’t know what to answer him.
I wanted to ask him if he was sure about me being his wife and why he wanted to rush things. But I found the questions, pointless. I wouldn’t want him to change his mind.
I’ve dated guys, but none landed me a marriage certificate. I then thought that maybe, it was the way God finally wants to bless me, that he has finally heard my prayers. And since it was something I truly wanted, I asked him if he was truly proposing.
And he asked “what does it look like I’m doing?”
“You are asking me to marry you?” I replied “And what if I say no?”
“Then, you are not my wife and my search continues” he replied, eating his food and gave me a casual smile
We met at a popular fast food joint there at Onitsha.
He was so full of himself and looking a bit mean, but I didn’t allow myself to think too much, because I just met him, i shouldn’t describe him on first meeting.
And since he was proposing straight away, it will be a bad idea to say no.
And I said yes.
He said fine and asked, if I would like to follow him to his village, to introduce me to his family.
You needed to feel my heart, almost exploded from excitement, but I contained it to avoid appearing desperate. But he could tell I was happy.
For the first time, a man was about introducing me to his family, but I forgot to ask him, who he was actually introducing me to, his father, mother or entire family and whether they all base in the village…….do not stop reading. Tap below to CONTINUE reading from the next page
