What he asked me to do after I followed him to his village – part 6
“Is this the way you behave or that, you don’t like me?”
“I don’t understand. How am I behaving?”
“You are so cold with me. It’s as if you don’t like me. It’s like, someone is forcing you to marry me”
“I was the one who asked you to marry me and you said yes, so what are you trying to imply?”
“Don’t get me wrong, it’s just that, you are acting like a stranger to me. We haven’t even gone intimate like lovers. You don’t play with me, you don’t laugh with me. You are restricting yourself from me, what is going on? Why am I having this feeling that, you don’t even like me and let alone loving me?”
“Don’t worry, you are going to get your answers this evening”
“Why this evening? You mean, you will first seek your family’s approval before loving me?”
“You are asking too many questions. Just know that, I want this as much as you do. I am also desperate to get married. Just stop asking questions” he said, stood and left
And I was upset. I had every reason to back out, but I was tired of being single. I needed my own family, badly.
It was around 6 in the evening, he came in the room and brought one drink like that. It was milkish in colour.
He said it was palm wine and handed me a full cup to drink.
And I took and drank.
He poured another cup for me and I drank.
And he smiled and left.
And that was the first time I saw a smile on his face.
And I smiled back, feeling glad that, we were making progress, not knowing he had an ulterior motive.
After he left, I started feeling somehow. So I remembered that I had bitter kola in my purse. So I took one and chew. After some minutes I took it, I started feeling good again.
Before I embarked on that journey, I told Mummy Ngozi Lovelyn about it, she said she will get back to me. I waited that night, but I didn’t see her message. Next morning again. Yet, nothing. So I got ready and left. Before entering the bus that will convey me to his side, I decided to chat her again and she said I should forget about the man. I told her that, I was already on the way to meet him, that we will be going to his village so he can introduce me to his people.
And she said, hmmm and asked me to check if I can see bitter kola and shear butter around. That I should buy them and put in my bag. She also instructed I rub the shear butter on my chest and around my heart area. She also advised I be on prayer throughout.
I thanked her and luckily, I saw a woman selling bitter kola by the tracas park there and bought the items………do not stop reading… see the next page to read the end..
