The bitter heart of my EX – episode 2 – by Ngozi Lovelyn
My best friend, Tess was so mad. She pushed we messed Okechukwu’s life and destroy his destiny, but I didn’t settle for that idea.
“Yea, he is marrying another woman, but that doesn’t mean I have lost him” I said, amidst teary eyes, facing a fixed direction.
And Tess, realising I was still inlove with Okey, she gently moved towards me, and held me.
“My dear friend, Okey has moved on, I guess you should do same and stop living in dreams. He has moved on, but I wouldn’t want you to make it easy for him. I’m still of the opinion, we mess him up first for wasting your time. Come on, you did a lot for that imbecile. You sacrificed almost everything for him, don’t tell me you are going to make this break up soft for him. See, If that’s what you are planning, baby girl, I am sorry to tell you this, I’m not tagging along with you on this one”
I could hear Tess talking, swearing, but I couldn’t make meaning to the things she was saying. My mind was fixed on how to get Okey back. It was still hard to believe he could chose a village girl over me. It was a very severe stab on my heart. I couldn’t allow myself accepting the reality.
Days later, I kept nursing my hurt and still trying my best to see if I could change his mind from going ahead with the marriage, but his mind was made up on marrying the girl he claimed his mother said was best for him.
2 months later, he was married but still claimed I was the girl for him. He still visited me anytime he wished and got jealous anytime an unknown number called my line. And sometimes, he slept over my house. This was someone who was newly married.
What a selfish human being he was.
And because I had known my stand with him, I didn’t make things easy for him. I was no longer the soft girl he knew before. But that never stopped him from coming to me. Infact, I updated my styles and got him crazier, while billing him for every single thing he was doing with me. And the funny part, he never said no nor complained.
And that got me even shocked.
I could remember how I would ask him for money and he would explain he was out of cash at the moment and as the humble girlfriend I was, I would understand and looked for another means to sort myself.
I never knew he could be quite a money spender.
I became so good after he got married that he began getting so deep into me. And my sole intention was to mess his family life up.
I changed from the kind humble girl I was to a bitchy vibe character. And that got him even nutter. And he started doing anything just to keep me.
And this got me asking myself, “does it mean, men don’t like humble and responsible ladies?”
My plan was still in motion and my friend, Tess was waiting patiently for my signal to strike and our target was his wife, Ogonna.
I had gotten Okey in a place I want him, so it was time to swing into the next action.
And here begins my story.
To be continued.
